On July 2, 2026, a red Honda Accord collided with a utility pole at 5212 Old Redwood Highway, shearing the pole at its base. The accident resulted in power lines and the pole falling across the roadway, completely blocking all lanes of traffic. PG&E was dispatched to the scene and estimated an arrival time of 12 minutes. A tow truck was requested for the front-end damage to the vehicle.
