On June 22, 2026, at approximately 5:21 PM, a two-vehicle collision involving a white Acura MDX and a white minivan occurred on northbound Interstate 5 near SR-57, just south of Chapman. One of the vehicles was initially blocking the slow lane before both vehicles came to rest in the gore point area. The vehicles were reported as non-driveable, and the Freeway Service Patrol was requested to assist with towing.
