On July 3, 2026, at approximately 12:21 PM, a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a white Volkswagen and an unknown vehicle occurred on Northbound Interstate 5 near Hawthorne. Both vehicles came to a stop in the center divide. Emergency response units were positioned on the right shoulder just north of Hawthorne on the ramp from 10th Street and the main lanes by 12:35 PM.
