On July 2, 2026, at approximately 1:06 PM, a collision occurred between a maroon Jeep Grand Caravan and a white AT&T pickup truck on State Route 55 South at Interstate 5 South. The accident blocked the High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane and the number one lane. Freeway Service Patrol and the Fire Department responded to the scene. By 1:37 PM, the involved parties were taken off at McFadden, and all lanes were reopened.
