On July 3, 2026, at approximately 7:50 PM, multiple traffic collisions occurred on State Route 4 East at the Balfour Road on-ramp. A grey 2015 Chevrolet Equinox struck the center divide, while another collision involving an unknown SUV and a four-door sedan resulted in both vehicles coming to rest on the right-hand shoulder in the gore point. Debris was reported across all lanes. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and a tow truck was required for an SUV with major front-end damage. All lanes were reopened by 8:23 PM.
