On July 2, 2026, at approximately 4:31 PM, a traffic collision involving a grey Tesla Model Y and a red Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV occurred on Northbound US 101 at the State Route 92 connector. Both vehicles initially blocked lane 6, eventually blocking all lanes before being moved to the two rightmost lanes. A SigAlert was issued due to significant traffic backup. The collision resulted in minor injuries, and both vehicles sustained major front-end damage. Two tow trucks were required to remove the vehicles. All lanes were reopened by 5:40 PM.
