On July 2, 2026, a silver Lexus LS400 and a silver Toyota collided on Interstate 8 East near Texas Street. Both vehicles initially stopped in the center divider, and were later moved to the right-hand shoulder. No injuries were reported. Western Tow provided a courtesy tow for the Toyota driver, who had insufficient funds for the towing service.
