At approximately 12:51 AM on July 3, 2026, a traffic collision occurred on the Interstate 605 South at the Valley Blvd off ramp. A black four-door sedan struck attenuators and the right shoulder wall, remaining on the right shoulder and smoking after the impact. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene for precautions. A second black vehicle was also found on the right shoulder, though it was not confirmed if the vehicles were related. The collision partially blocked the slow lane just north of the Valley off ramp, and both a tow truck and Caltrans were requested to the scene.
