On July 2, 2026, a traffic collision involving a white BMW sedan and a grey Honda occurred on Interstate 5 South near the Coaster Station. Both vehicles ended up in the center divide, and while they were reported as driveable, they remained in the center divide. All lanes were temporarily held but later reopened.
