On June 5, 2026, at approximately 4:38 PM, a traffic collision involving a green Toyota RAV4 and a white GMC occurred on southbound Interstate 5 at Rye Canyon Road. The accident blocked the fast lane, causing other vehicles to swerve to avoid the crash. It was initially unknown if the Toyota RAV4 was drivable. One tow truck was requested, and an officer led a traffic break from mile marker 126. All vehicles were eventually moved off the freeway at Rye Canyon Road to the old road just north of Rye.
