On June 5, 2026, at approximately 6:19 PM, a single-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Gilman Springs Road and Jack Rabbit Trail. A black Mercedes sedan attempted to avoid a tractor-truck, resulting in the vehicle rolling over and colliding with the center divide. The incident resulted in minor injuries, and CAL FIRE and a tow truck from Pirots were dispatched to the scene. The vehicle was eventually towed from the westbound lanes.
