On June 21, 2026, at approximately 1:35 PM, a three-vehicle traffic collision occurred on SR 99 South, just south of Elk Grove Blvd. The accident involved a silver Lexus sedan, a grey Dodge Durango, and a grey Honda Civic. Two of the vehicles ended up in the ditch on the right-hand shoulder, while all vehicles eventually came to a stop on the right shoulder. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, and the incident was later classified as resulting in minor injuries. Multiple tow trucks, including a flatbed for the AWD vehicle, were requested to remove the vehicles from the site.
