On June 21, 2026, a red SUV hit a soft spot on the shoulder of State Route 299 and rolled over, landing on its roof. Two people were injured in the crash and transported by Modoc Medical to Modoc Medical Center. A tow truck was required to remove the vehicle from the scene.
