On June 21, 2026, a collision occurred between an orange motorcycle and a Mazda SUV on State Route 9. The motorcycle rider was found lying down and required emergency medical attention. The Mazda SUV contained two adults and three children, who were checked for complaints of pain. Due to the severity of the injuries, an air ambulance was requested, necessitating the temporary shutdown of both northbound and southbound lanes for a landing zone.
