On June 3, 2026, a vehicle crashed into the center divide on State Route 1 South, causing damage to the driver's side of the vehicle. The driver subsequently fled the scene, exiting at State Parking Problem and turning left. CHP later reported that they were unable to locate any damage to the center divide.
