On July 3, 2026, a vehicle suffered a tire blowout on eastbound Interstate 8, just east of Westside Road, causing the driver to land in the center median. The vehicle nearly rolled over but did not. While it was unknown if there were injuries, the party involved changed the tire, but the vehicle would not start. Valley Tow from El Centro was requested to tow the vehicle to El Sol Market on 4th Street.
