Hit-and-Run Incident on State Route 7

On July 2, 2026, a hit-and-run incident occurred on State Route 7 involving a suspect vehicle that bumped into the reporting party twice before continuing south. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) updated the incident from a traffic collision to a hit-and-run. After coordinating with U.S. Customs, it was determined that the suspect vehicle had already traveled southbound into Mexico.
