On June 7, 2026, at approximately 4:14 AM, a single-vehicle traffic collision occurred on the right shoulder in the bushes of US-101 Northbound, just south of Betteravia Road. The vehicle rolled over and was initially reported as being on its top; however, it was later reported as being on its wheels. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene. The subject involved in the accident abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. The fire department remained on standby for the CHP, and Santa Maria Towing was requested to remove the vehicle.
